PAC has even had its first surgery day post-fire in October, neutering temple animals

The fire damaged roof was repaired, but windows, ceiling and electrics left for now

Yard, wall & driveway completed

new gate in place
ground still needs to settle – the rains should help!
entrance yard
wall looks less depressing when painted!

and it is all thanks to

Alec
PAC’s project manager
Pi Torn
our excellent building foreman
Alec’s wife, Amanda
responsible for all financial reports
And Torn’s mum
for her unending support

September 2008

PAC’s land was secured around the perimeter with a wall & fence with barbed wire:
not how we had expected to have to live!

security wall on east
security wall on south, facing road
security wall on west

The driveway for access to the road was cleared & walled

from road looking to clinic
water tower to hold our second-hand tank was erected to ensure water during times of power-cuts

Nurse Shanna Oxenbridge (whose contract we cancelled due to the fire) visited us with her Dad, and they donated a Spirit House to help protect PAC.

All previous renovations (see May 2008) lost, as well as entire library, medications, vaccines, computer, fridge, etc

roof burned through
burned roof & soot
lost library & electrics
lost computer & meds – thankfully oxygen did not explode
fire stopped before reaching wood house

Though materials had been bought and foundations dug for Staff Housing, this plan was abandoned so that resources could be used to build a security wall instead

As the clinic was close to completion, and the final materials already ordered, it was decided to finish the project

Kennel development
Entire clinic relocates to Woktum- thanks to the patient help of many volunteers, especially Yoga Retreat; Work starts on kennels – slight complications due to slope of land and therefore need for stilts, but great potential with 2 large kennels, 7 small kennels, 9 cat kennels and a cat exercise yard
